About

Hi, I'm omitsu

Full-stack engineer. Trade name: Studio Mitsu. Based in Japan.I've been in the industry since 2012 — now in my 15th year. Currently running 32blog and working as a freelance developer.

Who I Am

I entered this industry in 2012 — 15 years ago now. I started at a small systems integrator, where I worked across a range of large-scale projects: billing and customer management systems for a major telecom carrier, a public-sector electronic bidding platform, data infrastructure for the energy industry, and load testing for autonomous driving systems. I was trusted to design and implement REST APIs on my own, and I led a small team as well. There were stretches where I didn't get home before the last train, but all of it shaped me into someone who can handle just about anything thrown my way.

In the second half of my career as an employee, I started a YouTube channel and a blog on the side. I was posting troubleshooting notes from work, and people were actually finding them useful. That felt good. Once ad revenue and affiliate income stabilized, I left the company and went independent.

Since then, I've been working as a freelance engineer across the automotive and telecom industries, among others. Backend is my strength, but I handle frontend and infrastructure too when the project calls for it. I also take on website fixes and technical problem-solving through freelance platforms.

These days, my main focus is running 32blog and building with AI tools. I write about development workflows with Claude Code, video processing with FFmpeg, and security topics. The goal is simple: someone searches for a problem, lands here, and walks away with an answer.

What I Work With

My main stack is TypeScript, Next.js, React, and Node.js. For infrastructure, I work with AWS, Docker, and Linux — this blog runs on Vercel. I use PostgreSQL or MySQL depending on the project.

Earlier in my career, I spent a lot of time writing Java and C#. I also have hands-on experience with embedded Linux (Yocto Project) and video processing (FFmpeg) — both of which feed directly into the articles on this blog.

Lately I've been leaning heavily into AI-assisted development, using Claude Code, Gemini, and Stable Diffusion as part of my daily workflow.

Outside of Work

Dog Person

Dogs are about 90% of who I am. Nothing in life makes me happier than time spent with dogs.

Night Owl

When I'm deep in a personal project, sleep stops existing. Building tools and websites — I look up and it's 6 AM. Every night I tell myself I'll sleep early. I never do.

Coffee

I drink a lot of coffee. There's always a mug next to my keyboard. Not picky about beans — very particular about quantity.

Seafood

Seafood is my weakness. Give me ikura and uni and I need nothing else. I also love vegetables — my dream is to own a big farm someday.
