Frequently Asked Questions
C4 vs Rockets — which costs less sulfur?
It depends on the target. For a stone wall (strong side), C4 takes 2 charges at 4,400 sulfur total, while Rockets take 4 at 5,600 sulfur. C4 wins by 1,200 sulfur on a single wall. But Rockets deal splash damage — if you line up the shot right, one Rocket can damage multiple building parts at once. The general rule: C4 for doors you're punching through one by one, Rockets for honeycomb walls you want to blow open in bulk.
What's the best raid tool for solo players?
If sulfur is tight, Explosive 5.56 Ammo and Satchel Charges are your best friends. Raiding a Sheet Metal Door with Explo Ammo costs 63 rounds × 25 sulfur = 1,575 sulfur, compared to 2,200 for a single C4. Satchels have a dud chance, but at 480 sulfur each they're cheap to craft and only need a Level 1 Workbench. Bonus: if you run Auto Turrets, Explo Ammo doubles as turret feed, so nothing goes to waste.
Should I raid from the soft side of walls?
For sheet metal and above, explosives deal the same damage regardless of which side you hit. Wood walls can be melee'd down from the soft side with a Salvaged Sword or hatchet. Stone walls can also be pickaxed from the soft side if you have time. Always check for soft-side access before burning your boom. You'd be surprised how often players place walls backwards, giving you a free entry.
Is the data up to date with the latest patch?
This tool is based on commonly known Rust raid costs. Facepunch may adjust balance in patches, so double-check in-game before committing to a large raid.
